1.) Golden Temple

Walk starts from Mata Longa wali this temple is dedicated to Goddes Durga every day so many devotees visit this temple and seek the blessing of the Goddess, Navrata Hindu festival is big fair here.

2.) Jallianwala Bagh

In Amritsar the second most visited places in Amritsar is Jallianwala bagh where 13th April 1919 British Army General dyer had ordered Army to open fire on the innocents people and killed 379 people and many more were injured, it was a peaceful meeting of the people Army went and General dyer ordered to open fire , there is small museum , photography is allowed and it is opened from 7 am to 7 pm it is very near to the golden Temple , recently it has been restored.

3.) Partition Museum

It is one of the most important museum which is based on the tragedy of partition of 1947 when India was divided and people from both side had to migrate to unknown places in this mass migration lakhs of people suffered and about half a million were killed and over 1 million became homeless it has been situated in the building of town hall, there is ticket to see it for indians it is rs 10 and for foreigners it is rs 250 per person it is opened from 10 am to 6 pm and on monday it is closed

4.) Gobind Garh fort

It is one of the best Architectural design of 18th century it was built by Misl Sardars in 18th century, and got renovated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh during the time of british they occupied it , there is light and sound program which happens in the evening and there are three museums , one is Traditional sikhs warrior museum , Turban Museum, and Sikh coin museum , there is a ticket to visit it , it opened 7 days in the week from 9 am to 10 pm

5.) Panorama Maharaja Ranjit Singh

It is another museum based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit singh , it is situated at Company bagh which was got developed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, there is a summer palace of Ranjit singh where maharaja Ranjit used to stay during his visit to Amritsar, this museum is closed on monday and opened from 10 am to 6 pm there is ticket for the museum

6.) House of Bhai Veer singh

Bhai veer Singh was a great poet and writer he was poet of nature and considered William words worth of Punjabi Literature, his house which is biggest house in Amritsar and it has been converted in to a museum , it is nicely kept and lots of tree and flowers are there , it is on Lawrence road and not far from the Panorama of Maharaja Ranjit singh, it is must visit place for literature lovers, there is no fee to visit it.

7.) Durgiana Temple

Durgiana Temple is an other important and interesting place in the city to visit ,it is a hindu Temple and it was established in 1925 and it is quite similar to the Golden Temple, it has been devoted to Krishan, Ram and Vishnu, many hindu people and tourists visit this temple, it is kind of replica of the Golden Temple

8.) Khalsa College

when we talk about the architectural marvel of the city then Khalsa college can not be ignored , it was established by the sikh community and it is on Attari road, the building is one of the best in Punjab, which is based on the indo ceramic style, it is co education institution and one of the reputed institution in north India, khalsa college was established by the Sikhs 1892, british helped the Sikhs to established it, there are number of courses are being taught in the college

9.) War Heros Museum

It is an other interesting museum which is situated on Attari road , it is about the Indian Soldiers who fought the different battles there are 7 galleries in which you see the heroic deeds of the soldiers is a separate gallery for the war heroes who fought kargil war, this museum is closed on monday and there is ticket go visit it, it is interest museum for those who are interested in the war history

10.) Ram Tirth

Ram Tirath is 10 km away from the city, it is very ancient place around Amritsar , it is a place where Ramayan was written by Valmiki and Sita stayed here in an asylum with her two sons , recently the temple is renovated by the govt and there is a big pool of water in which there is beautiful temple has been built , it is an other architectural marvel in Amritsar , it is opened 7 days in week and there is no ticket to visit it , when you are on the way to the Wahga Border you can visit it

11.) Village Preet Nagar

Punjab is not only a land soldiers it is land of writers , there are number of writers who enriched Punjabi literature with their writings , one of them was Gurbakhs singh Preet lari , who was civil engineer from University of Michigan United states , he envisioned an idea of a village for writers and poets he established it near Lopoke village at the equal distance from Amritsar and Lahor It was known as preet Nagar , village of love it is 35 km away from Amritsar , there was not any boundary walls of the houses, and no kitchen , there was only a community kitchen

12.)Wagah Border/ Attari Border

After Golden Temple it is Wagah or Attari border which attract so many visitors on daily basis , it is a main crossing point between Indian and pakistan, it is a joint check post where a joint parade takes place every day during the sun set before to take the flag down the guards from both sides perform and ceremonial parade which is attended by thousands of people , it is 30 km from Amritsar and just 20 km from the Lahore, BSF soldiers and Pakistanbi sutlej rangers perform parade like a competition, ceremony happens on daily basis in the evening, there is no ticket to watch the ceremony it is recommended to be there well in time to take the good seats.
